With Tuesday's State of the Union Address, FOX sweeps the week in the ratings. FOX News was the most watched network for the address, airing at 9 PM, Easter Time, with 11.27 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49. MSNBC was second, drawing 3.79 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating, just a tad higher than a normal Rachel Maddow episode. The last full week in January saw all three cable news networks battle for the top spot in the ratings. Just one one-hundredth of a point separates the three networks, in the A18-49 demographic. CNN and FOX News saw slight gains in the category, while MSNBC fell back, from last week. FOX News was the most watched, with 130,000 more viewers than MSNBC and nearly double that of CNN's viewership. Tuesday night's Presidential Address pumped up that night's cable news ratings, especially for FOX News. FNC had the highest rated coverage, with the 9 PM hour grabbing 7.1 million viewers and a solid 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49. CNN was second, with 3.5 million and a 0.8 demographic rating, leaving MSNBC in last with 4.3 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating. Read more »

MSNBC and CNN saw gains, week-to-week, while FOX News was the only cable news network, loosing ground. MSNBC is a clear #1 cable news network, drawing more than 10% in viewers than FOX, and nearly a full tenth of a point, in the A18-49 demographic, over the one dominate network. CNN saw the biggest gains, pulling within 0.01 points of MSNBC, in the A18-49 demo, with a consistent draw in all three primetime hours.
